| [CATV] Video On Demand in D.C. still not functioning correctly
I am still having issues accessing much of the programs on VOD. It worked fine until the guide was upgraded. Now, I am only able to access a handful of shows and movies, and it often takes multiple tries. On about 90% of the shows I've tried to access, I get this error message...

And frequently, when stopping a program on the rare occasion taht I can get it to work, I get this message:

Is anyone else having these problems? Again, everything worked fine before the upgrade. |

Turn off Cable Box, check fittings to ensure they are tight. If you are coming off a splitter please remove the splitter and then boot back up. Keep box unplugged for at least a minute.
If not , PM me and we will have to schedule a truck roll to get you a new box. -- Jason Nealis, Director, Operations RCN |

| reply to machpost I have read that the VOD button on the remote supposedly doesn't function anymore.
However, Even going to channel 001 or any of the several VOD channels, I get a blue screen saying "Welcome to VOD HOME CHANNEL Press OK or Select to enter."
This however does nothing, and it stays on this screen.
I have a DCT6412... and very disappointed that the service does not seem to be working. Am I missing something here? |

| reply to machpost Just got home form long vacation. My housesitter said the cable has not functioned. Unfamiliar channel menu that only shows a number, no information about the program or even basic channel information. I press my menu button (as well as several other buttons) and get the message "your settings menu is not available". I searched on here and tried some the remedies I saw; first unplugged the machine for more than the recommended minute with no change even after the cable boxed flashed "LOAD" for about two minutes. On demand does not work, went to channel 1, but cannot access shows from there either. Any new recommendations? |

| reply to Jack Brown I am having weird VoD problems in Massachusetts... I was one of the first RCN customers here and I may have an old box, but it supported VoD before... however after this update I can no longer access VoD. There's no menu option for it, and when I go to channel 001 I get some sort of local access station. Weird. |

| reply to machpost I'm in DC and am still not receiving the guide at all, even though this status message suggests the problem is largely gone: »status.rcn.com/index.cgi?qtype=r···tid=3970
I'm not sure which number on my box is the "GL" but here's what I could find:
GI411OND1117 0000285799328140 AB006M8XXXR70
Is that at all helpful? I got the box about a year and a half ago, when the company was still Starpower. Thanks in advance. |

Getting the "settings menu is not available" message. I have unplugged for 5+ minutes, get flashing "Load" and then no change. I don't understand what numbers are needed to diagnose this problem, but the sticker on the bottom of my box says:
F/G No: 477944-013-00 CATV Converter Model DCT 2224/1661/ACDEG. Thanks in advance for any help.
