Install Windows Vista RC1 .... it works great, but the tweaking should keep you busy until at least Saturday afternoon ...

Given the symptoms I would think it's the power supply, you should probably open it up as soon as possible and replace all the electrolytics with ones that have been pulled from service previously. Installing these experienced pre dried caps, should resolve your problem almost immediately.

Is fire supposed to shoot out of it like that?

If that doesn't solve the problem then I would look to the CPU cooling fan? did it start spinning? These fans have a bad habit of beginning to spin and cause all sorts of grief. If it is spinning you can unplug the wires going to it, that often resolves the problem. If that doesn't work you could try taping some paper or card board over the fan to block the airflow to it. That will neutralize the troubles caused by the spinning fan blades.

The spinning on start up confused me, so I just removed the CPU fan all together. If the problem still exists, I'll remove the heatsink also...that should do it for sure on this AMD chip...lol.

Try unpluggin the hard-drive; it's the most problematic device out there.

After doing that, removing the heat-sync, the cooling fan, the graphics card, the power supply, and your broadband modem, everything will be corrected.

Oh, I almost forgot, after that, take a ball bat to it, that'll work the best!

You haven't tried the be all solution to any problem known to man. A freaking huge sledgehammer. Follow instructions as follows.

1. Put computer on floor.
2. Take 30+lbs sledgehammer over head into swinging position.
3. Unleash hell on the computer.

Hey, I have 15 of them here in this little apartment and they are ALL working perfect at this moment.

Only problem I have is when one breaks then several others also seem to break but without a common problem amongst any of them

Only thing I can think of is it is something to do with that Murphy guy that makes the laws.

Actually, try any of the following:

1. Give it a run through the dishwasher...
2. Let the kids and/or wife have free reign w/ it!
3. Attempt to jumpstart your car w/ it's power supply!
4. Connect some tubes, add a water & food tray... and give your hamster a new, cool place to live!

Better is to let my receptionist at work have at it for 10 minutes.
She will make sure it is infected in under a minute and then break the power button while trying frantically to shut it down (She once tried to kill it by clipping the power cord with large nail clippers!).
