Construction Schedule in MC Maryland

The October construction schedule for Montgomery County MD only lists these streets:
»www22.verizon.com/about/communit···ion.html
Daleshire Way
Gateway Terr
Greencastle Rd
Harvest Glen Way
Jump Dr
Lansdale Ct
Robey Rd
Steeple Rd
Waterdrop Ct

Old Georgetown Road isn't listed, but I spotted fiber deployment there yesterday:

Old Georgetown @ Edson

Old Georgetown @ Tilden

Old Georgetown is served by the Wildwood CO, BUT I saw this on Ashley Drive, in Randolph Hills. Is there hope for us, or did someone throw some spare cable up there just to taunt me?

Ashley Drive, Randolph Hills

LOOK! It says: "Fiber Optic Cable"

I know BarneyBadAss See Profile. There's not a single strand on my street.

But why all the unannounced activity? Old Georgetown Road is a pretty major thoroughfare.

Cranking the deploy back up. Takes some considerable time to shift the resources back in.

JohnA See Profile, do you think the last two photos I posted are fiber deployment?

Yes, because it comes out of aerial conduit. The first pic looks like you could have both Comcast and Verizon fiber hanging in the same intersection. The loops down near the copper are in conduit, but the loops above the Comcast cable don't appear to be in conduit. The small loop looks like a splice tail, to be dropped and spliced into the big one. The big loop will continue on, after splicing, may even go underground at the base of that pole, if there's underground conduit there. Truck on the left is a spool of pull tape, which they blow through the conduit to pull the fiber with. Pull tape hanging out of the conduit going left in the second pic.

And it says so right on the cable.

Right... it's fiber... but...

Is there anything else, other than FiOS, that it could be used for?

If the Montrose CO isn't going to be lit for another decade or so, might it be for a remote terminal so we can get DSL?

There's a bunch of MDUs being built down the road from where I took the 1st two pics, so it seems likely that Comcast would be building there too.

The loop of fiber in last two pics is between my home and that brown box pictured here: »Am I Grasping at Straws? , but the plastic tube with fiber stops before it gets to my street. Any details about those (not as interesting) 2nd two pics?

JT, that's FIOS in your pictures. From the conduit to the actual fiber that is spooled up. Hopefully it's not too long before FIOS is up and running in your area.

If you look very carefully in JT's 5th photo, that's JT herself up on the pole in her tool belt hanging her own fiber.

I'm not getting my hopes up 'til I see an ONT hanging by the electric panel. Or at least until I see the glass on my street.

Troy Road is still barren, but it's getting closer!!!

Here are some pictures from Ashley Drive. Incidentally, Ashley wasn't on the construction schedule, so just because your street wasn't listed doesn't mean you won't get lit soon. The technicians I spoke to said service would be available in Randolph Hills by the beginning of the year, though maybe as early as December.

Getting MUCH closer now - this one's from Rock Road near Star Lane. Rock isn't on the schedule either.

Looks like your schedule is up. All 4 counties have the wrong month on them. »www22.verizon.com/about/communit···ery.html

I'm not positive JohnA See Profile, but that looks like the MoCo schedule from January. Last night the link was updated to point to a file named moconov.doc, but the link was broken. I think someone change the link so it points to an actual file now, but it's an old one.

Though I'm just guessing.

How about this: »www22.verizon.com/about/communit···ion.html or is it old also.

  That looks fresh!

It's got Old Georgetown (which I pointed out at the beginning of this topic), plus Montrose Road and Randolph Road. I guess it just lists the major roads, not roads like Ashley and Rock and ummm that other one in Randolph Hills:

TROY ROAD

What a nice bunch of workers! All the crews I've spoken with so far have been so friendly - even though they refuse to give me a peek at their maps.

Anyway, today they came down Rock, but turned LEFT on Star.

Rock/Star

Troy Road is scheduled for next week!
