 [iO] 8300hd settings issue

Hey all,
Picked up the dvr on Monday and I have to say I waited too long to upgrade. I do have a question/issue that I hope someone here can answer as I couldn't find any posts about it.
Issue: I shut down the DVR at night and every morning when I wake up to go to work (5 am) the box is on and I can hear the hard drive spinning. I looked within all my settings/preferences and the only thing I have to record on a schedule is "LOST" every Wednesday at 9 pm. Is there any settings I need to change? and does IO put ours in power-save mode at 1 am? if so, could that be actually turning it on?
Thanks for your help!
Phil

When I power the DVR off at night, it stays off. Are you saying that your On/Off light is actually on when it was off when you went to bed?

If the DVR starts to record, there's a red record light that comes on whether the box is on or off. I'm pretty sure it doesn't turn the box on, if it was off and needed to record.

I know you said you checked all your settings, but to be sure, go back to the Preferences menu and make sure that Timer: Wake Up is not enabled.

If it isn't enabled, reboot the box - sometimes they get some crazy instructions stuck in memory.

GeekNJ,
Yes, I power it off at night, I've even waited to hear the hard drive power down completely. And when I wake up in the morning it is on, but it's not recording anything.
I have recorded stuff since I got it (Mets game, and it worked fine.) I'll double check the settings again.
Thanks

Quint,
I did reboot it and noticed that when i went into preferences my timer was set to turn on at 12:00 am. (Figures), but I did disable it and I'll check it tomorrow a.m., I appreciate both you and Geek's responses.

Thanks again,
Phil
