Most of the reason people don't like the 7000s is because it has a built in router. If you hook the cable to your broadband router it comes to a screeching halt. I dusted of an old D-link 100 base hub and let the Hughes hardware route to it's hearts content. System is very stable, and my 3 computer WinXP network gets DHCP from the Sat modem. If you only have a router, most will let you disable DHCP and the 7000S will run just fine. I get 1100 down and 180 up 98% of the time. |
