Yet another reason not to buy a crappy Ford or GM. Buy Toyotas and Hondas. They are made in Kentucky and Ohio, respectively. Ford and GM, along with many other manufacturers including your revered Japanese, have production deals in place with the Chinese. They produce cars there only for the Chinese market and are helping to modernize and clean up the production there. The only Ford and GM cars you can purchase in the USA are made either here or in Canada or Mexico/South America (not counting the "foreign" makes owned by each company, like Jaguar, Saab, etc.).
Many Toyotas and Hondas on the sales lots here are still made in Japan, in some models all of them come from Japan. |
