| Hope this is right place, wireless internet with router
Hello everyone, I recently got wireless internet through clearwire. It was that or dial up in my area. Anyway, the internet works fine for me. My hubby plays Socom 3 on his ps2 and I play Everquest 2 on my PC. We had to buy a router so we got the Netgear WGR614v6. The router is awesome, we actually experience LESS lag with it than without. The only problem is my husband cannot use his headset for his game with the router. He cannot speak or hear. I have been on the phone with netgear for 2 days and they have been little if any help. Sony just says it's not their problem call Netgear. I have opened port after port, I have DMZ enabled. I have checked my IP addresses a million times. If anyone is knowledgeable about this I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks |

| I wouldn't use DMZ but i dont have a ps2. My psp works great through my dg834pn i didnt even need to open any ports. Out of interest is the PS2 Hardwired to the router or wireless too? Try giving the ps2 its on ip address and make sure all your WEP/WPA settings and password and DNS settings are correct on Ps2 and router. Other than that it should work. Sony wont help netgear might but i would say the isp would be the most help |

1 edit | I have wireless internet but the router, modem, and everything else connected to it is done so with Cat5 ethernet cords. The PS2 has it's own IP address. I'm not sure how I would check WEP/WPA settings. He can play Socom 3 flawlessly except for the fact that he can't communicate with his headset lol. Without the router it works just fine... Oh I just checked, I get my DNS automatically from ISP. I have my router doing everything automatically and my ps2 is logging in manually, could this be the conflict? Or am I a total idiot here? lol |
