Re: WGT624 V3 connecting to Vonage router no DHCP help

Try to see if the PC will get an IP address automatically, with WEP turned off.

According to the RT31P2 Manual, the default IP address is 192.168.15.1 . Did you change it to 192.168.1.1?

The Linksys has an LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 and the Netgear has a LAN IP of 192.168.1.3,right?

And you set it up,as I showed earlier, with the two units connected LAN port to LAN port,WAN port NOT USED on the Netgear?

Yes SSID broadcast is on with wep security. Ok I just got it to give out ip without my laptop having a static ip. I put in a static ip route on the netgear pointing to the Linksys at 192.168.1.1 which works put after I save the setting I can no longer get to the netgear setup page at 192.168.1.3 but the netgear is giving out ip's now. So I don't know if this is the right way to do it since I can no longer able to get to the netgear setup page.
