| connecting xbox360 to wireless network
I was wondering whether anyone has had problems connecting their xbox 360 console to a wireless network via a netgear DG834G v2 router?It says on the console that I am connected and displays the network name under the network settings tab but then when I test the xbox live connection, no connection is found. If anyone has encountered the same problem or knows how to fix it, I would really appreciate knowing. |

1 edit | use dhcp on router or turn on upnp
set xbox to get ip auto and try auto dns, or maybe stick manual dns in.
if upnp is not working for you , look at upgrading firmware in 834 make sure you gt the right version for your router though as there are a few.
If upnp is still not working then , open the ports manually
you need port 88 UDP open and 3074 TCP and UDP opened.
maybe think about locking the mac address of xbox 360 to your router, or think about setting the DMZ to your xbox 360 ip address.
Also try b network only, then g , hang back on select auto or turbo if offered |
