Stock up on Gold. Gold will help you level and it'll help cover the cost of your flying mount at level 70.

Ore and gems if you are going jewelcrafting.

Mainly though gold.

All the top end herbs, metals, disenchants will lose their price. Dreamfoil, thorium, nexus crystals all pretty much worthless. They will still sell (much like copper ore still sells), but not at the price they can fetch now.

Gold will be the only constant between WoW and TBC. But also prepare for massive inflation. Getting gold in the expansion will be much easier. I believe I saw a screen cap of a quest. The Reward was an item, XP AND 11G. And this quest was at lvl 64. So if lvl 64 quests are giving 11G, who knows what you will get at lvl 70.

5000g? Ouch!

My main has about 600g and I stopped farming for a while. Looks like I am going to have to get back to work. :P

I believe the epic flying mount training is 4500G. For standard flying mount it is about 700G from what I read and if I remembering correctly. Point is, yeah its expensive for an epic flying mount

All the top end guild still seem to be raiding, so you're going to want to supply them with as much mats as possible and see how much this lasts you into the expansion.

Your goal is to hit 5000g. As posted above, the only thing that will be worthwhile is gold. Everything else will be secondary. That's what I'll be working on. The quests, the items... all worthless, unless you're making a coin off of it.

get ore for the jewelcrafters. either mine it yourself,or buy/trade for it.
get about 100 runecloth to power lvl 1st aid. Netherweave cloth is the new cloth. I'm guessing there will be neatherweave bandages.
I also have a feeling that alchemy pots will go up as well. People will jump into hellfire ramparts to get some of the drops in there. Using major health/mana pots will be very helpful while in those new instances.
If anyone else has any other notables, please post.

Cause we don't know what to do with ourselves if we don't raid. TBC is going to be a culture shock.

It is. It's odd, but it is true. The guilds are already having a hard time trying to cope with these 25-man instances, but rumors are that some of the Tier4 gear drops from a 10-man. How are you going to run instances for that? Our guild has taken the stance that we're probably going to still work on Naxx, but work on leveling and getting ourselves to 70 and just playing it by ear and then setting up structure again once we understand what's going on.

Honestly, I think this means that we're going to have even MORE raid nights. Most of us can really only make it to 3-4 raids a week, so we don't ever see more than 5 raids with the 50 regular guild members we have. Even now, we usually run a 40-man with about 36-38 people and don't hit 40 for an hour or two. If we were to expand to seven days a week, this would drop raid attendance down to the 25-person level, which would mean that people can pick the days their available and we can raid heavy as a guild and still survive with 40-50 regular members.

I wonder how long the 10-man would take. Considering that it's on a reset, and if it takes a good 5-6 hours to run it, then we could be running a few of these per day. Run Naxx 3 times a week, run the 10-mans at three separate times, twice a week, and then 25-mans twice a week. That would be an awesome raid schedule.

However, if we're seeing that Tier3 gear is getting replaced by blues and junker epics, we may just not run Naxx at all... although, since we're a slight RP guild, we may just run it... just to see what it was really all about.

I'm really not sure if level 64 5-man items will replace Naxx gear, but I would really really like to see Naxx cleared to completion... even if we do it as "easy mode" because we're all in better gear at level 70.

Our guild actually enjoys Naxx because we think of it as the most creative instance Blizzard has (possibly "had" once TBC comes out) to offer.

I am going to wet my pants when I see the "Opera House" type instance. I saw a walk-through video. It is absolutely amazing. That is my goal... to complete that zone.

Personally, I don't think naxx gear will be largely replaceable until we encounter level 67-68 blues.

BWL/AQ gear - replaceable @ lvl 65 or earlier. Naxx gear will stick around a bit longer.

I think it's kinda funny people are in a panic over the 5000g epic flying mount price. Gold is plentyful in BC , mobs dropping 50s each and quest rewards giving lots of gold , plus remember all the new stuff you'll be learning and selling ..etc. 5000 will equal about as much as 800g in the current game in terms of how hard it may be. I didn't find my first epic mount that hard to earn the money.

Anyways..

My guild has decided to stop all raid old content raiding once BC is released , mainly so people will have time to level and not get burnt out. Also to enjoy the new content , cause not everyone can play 8 + hrs a day.

from a post on the WoW forums:

Green Loot:
Green loot drops at 60 vary, however in many cases they appear to be at least equal to or better than Zul’Garub equipment and quickly ramp up from there. In some cases, it is even equal to or better than some Molten Core drops. Soloers and casual players will definitely enjoy this aspect and will definitely be upgrading right off the bat. Keep in mind that not every piece of loot you find will be “better”, some will still suck, some you will value differently than other people, etc.

Quest Loot:
Green and Blue quest loot at level 60-62 is very good from what I am seeing so far and if you look below into the Quest Loot section, you can see some of it. Will it offer upgrades for the Molten Core, BWL and Naxramas raiders? Yes and no. Some of the level 60-62 quest loot is better than MC loot, some of it isn't. People with Blackwing Lair and Naxxramas equipment will probably be waiting a while longer before quest loot starts to surpass their equipment, but obviously there are always exceptions.

Blue Instance Loot:
The level 60-63 Hellfire Citadel instances are dropping loot that is in most cases is equal to and in many cases, is usually exceeding Tier 1 and other Molten Core loot. In a few cases, I have seen some socketed items that will probably replace the odd bits of Blackwing Lair loot. One rogue in partial Tier 2 said he would rather have the socketed leather chest piece I have shown above than his Tier 2 chest piece. I am sure others would disagree with him, but again, it varies from person to person.

From my discussions with other players, the level 63-66 Coilfang Reservoir and Auchindoun Instances are dropping loot that is equal to, marginally better than or greatly better than Blackwing Lair loot. In many cases, people are opting for the socketed sets over their existing loot but this appears to vary on the person and many want the extra stamina appearing in items. Others are opting to go with their Tier 2, due to set bonuses.

Some high level players say they are seeing plenty of level 67 blue instance loot that is better than Nax loot, so it appears that you can start upgrading Naxx loot at ~67, with some Naxx pieces lasting you longer and other pieces getting upgrades sooner. I can not given definitive answers yet and my guess is that it will totally vary anyways.

Purple/Epic Loot:
I have not seen any Epic loot out of Hellfire Citadel yet, however I would imagine it will be awesome stuff…
There are a few very important things that people should keep in mind though:

Tier 1, 2 and 3 Loot WILL make a big difference in your leveling and instance runs initially. So if you have it, don’t consider it a waste of time

Those of you in full sets of Tier loot will probably end up keeping your armor a little longer than is strictly necessary. The reason I say this is because I don’t see Tier equipped people stopping to farm HFC instances to upgrade their equipment, and due to not stopping to farm, they will keep their loot for a while. It is theoretically possible to replace all your MC loot at level 60 or BWL loot at 65, who is going to sit and run HFC over and over and over to do so? I think we will see people taking it with them until they slowly replace it over time but it depends on the people.

Socketed Items play a huge role in equipment so in some cases, existing Tier 2 and 3 loot could still be “better” in some cases, but people may upgrade due to the sockets or higher stamina or whatever.
In general, what I am seeing is that Tier 1 will last you between 60-63, Tier 2 between 64-66 and Tier 3 between 67-70 but by now, people probably clued into the fact that there is no definitive black and white answer here. Some will get replaced early, some wont.

If you are currently Raiding BWL and Naxx, I wouldn’t stop just yet. There is still weeks to go until BC hits the stores. The Naxx equipment will serve you well in BC, though you will definitely be finding upgrades well before level 70. And as I said, a clear picture of loot has not totally formed yet and we are in beta….
