I was having this problem some time ago, did a search on the FAQ's (amazing the amount of great information there). Here's two links to pages/topics that will help out.
»DSL FAQ »Stalls and freezes
»internet freezes momentarily while surfing
They both talk about doing the same thing, good luck |

@verizon.net
| Hello. Recently, after playing around with my home network settings, Ive had this problem where while Im surfing the internet, the internet will "freeze" and no page will open for a little while (30sec to a minute) and then all of a sudden the page will load and everything will be fine. Only the internet seems to freeze, my computer does not slow down at all. I read an old post earlier about how this is a problem with my tcp/ip, but Im unsure what to do.
My specs are: winxp computer with verizon online dsl and a belkin f5d 7230-4 wireless g-router that is directly connected to one computer and connected wirelessly to another computer.
Both computers seem to experience this "freezing" while surfing from time to time. The computer connected directly to the router has a static ip set up (192.168.2.2) and the computer that is connected wirelessly gets the ip address assigned automatically. I was getting an ip address conflict bc my router was giving the wireless computer the same ip address as my directly connected computer (192.168.2.2) so I changed my router settings so that under dhcp server, the starting ip address begins with 192.168.2.3. This fixed the ip address conflict but I am still getting the internet freezing problem on both computers.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
THANK YOU! |
