 | Shooting For A Cause: The Long Awaited Images Thread Ok, here it is. We've spent quite awhile organizing things. (Has it been 3 months already?) Now I think we're ready for some photos. After all, what's a photo book without photos?
Here are some guidelines:
1. Please name your photo in the format "Firstname Lastname - Image Title.jpg" This will help us to assign credit later on and to title the photo. If you just want your BBR screen name credited and not your real name, you could use "BBRUsername - Image Title.jpg" Alternatively, if you want your real name and BBR screen name credited, you could use "Firstname Lastname (BBRUsername) - Image Title.jpg"
2. Please upload full resolution photos. Don't shrink them for the web. Doing that will just make them look awful in print.
3. Please upload JPGs or TIFFs only. No RAWs. As nice as RAW is for some folks, our resources are most likely going to be pretty bare. Adding RAW editing onto the requirements might just be too much.
4. Please keep it family friendly. This shouldn't be too hard. We're not looking at making this a "Rated G, Kids Only" book, but we also don't need nude model shots in it. (Though I'm sure plenty of folks here would like those nude model shots e-mailed to them. ) Basically, if it's safe for you to be looking at in the office, it should be safe for inclusion in the photobook.
Please also note that uploading your photo to this thread will be taken a granting us approval to include the photo in the photo book without us paying you any royalties. If you want royalties for use of your photos, please don't upload them. All the money will be going to charity (Make-A-Wish Foundation), so we won't have any cash for royalty payments. (This should be obvious, but I felt it needed to be said as for "cover out butts" purposes.)
Also, please note that uploading your photo isn't a guarantee of the photo making it into the book. We're likely to get many photos and space might become a factor. We'll strive to include as many different photos from as many different folks as we can, but we're not going to make any guarantees.
That should be it. On your marks, get set, post photos! |

But some of these images have serious issues that will prevent them from printing well at all. Camera shake and artifacting do not look good blown up.
I am a forum member but would rather not post with my account. I know this hurts but needs to be said .
This is what these files should look more like: »[CritEditN] "Full sized" images... how good is good enough?.
Please consider what I've said. It would be so sad to see the book not sell. |

 | Hi Boat,
It's ok, you can come out in the open. People need constructive criticism, particularly if it will help them get their pictures published in the book. This is a collaborative project, there is no need to hide away, and no place for holier-than-thou attitudes (which I don't think people would assume in the first place).
JKK's picture is too small and has a lot of artifacting. Knowing her, I don't expect her to throw a fit at me. I'm sure she'd strive to learn how to obtain a file in the proper resolution, format and quality. She wants to see her picture published, and I want to see her picture published too.
Now, keep them coming. Full resolution images only, please, and high quality JPEGs! -- My ShutterPoint gallery My ImageEvent galleries |

We don't need any more dissension which will make people too disgusted to contribute.
We need contributions badly.
Most of us are going to contribute a few of what we think are our best. If they don't make it into the book we can only assume that others were better, and that's fine. We don't want to hear about it chapter and verse. Just let it drop.
Please! -- My site: »home.comcast.net/~mberner13 |

But some of these images have serious issues that will prevent them from printing well at all. Camera shake and artifacting do not look good blown up. That might be true, but we'll welcome any and all submissions. That's one reason why I mentioned that submitting a photo doesn't guarantee that photo will be included in the book. However, like Mauricio said, full resolution JPGs only please. We can't use images that were shrunk down for the web and we won't want to track down a dozen photographers to find the high resolution versions of photos. |

 | reply to Mauricio9 There's no "one photo per person" rule. Feel free to submit one photo or one dozen. I'd rather have too many photos to weed through than not enough photos. |
