Yeah, they're pretty bad. And their cable tv service sucks too.

Okay, this is making me sick. I either have a decent ping in the low 100s WITH time outs every couple of minutes or so (meaning a 30sec - 1min loss of connection or extreme packet loss). OR on the other hand, I have crap speed, over 300 ping, albeit, no time outs. It's so hard to decide!!! I don't get this!! Can't they give me the low pings without the time outs? ARRGH.

*throws up hands in frustration*

man I didn't get a signal at all now for the 32nd day and cox does nothing at all to solve the problem. How many times I called them I stopped counting after the 30th time!!!

Cox just ran their fiber-optic cable through my Alexandria (Fairfax Cty) neighborhood - they now offer digital cable and RoadRunner. I heard somewhere that Cox was focusing on the upgraded fiber-optic service and not supporting their other customers. Are you, and the others that posted herein, using the upgraded fiber-optic service or their original service?

"upgraded" fiber optic in my neighborhood this past week.

No appreciable improvement in virtually non-existent "service"

If they are "focusing" on the digital side of RR (which, from what I hear from here, they really aren't doing), I hate to think what they are doing for us regular copper suckers.

Sigh, $40-50 for a little faster than dial-up speed. Great!! I'm sure that's in my contract somewhere!!

nah they dont actually garuntee any speeds, just as long as you are on................. but you can get credit for the last 10 days if you call them right now and mention extremely slow browsing and losing connection. As if that isnt what was already happening..... but there was a plant problem that they are working on so you can get credit for that

I was down to a crawl all day. Working about 30 to 45% packet loss.

Holy crap, somethings wrong here. I'm downloading like a champ and it's almost 9:00pm. Errr, did I get switched to another ISP without me knowing?

Sorry to all those who are still having crap speed. But I'm on cloud 9 right about now, hehe.
