For the most part, I'm happy with IE7, BUT I just noticed this little quirk that makes me Not happy with IE7.
If you right-click on the toolbar (the one where the home, print, feeds, tools, etc icons are are), you can Customize the Toolbar however you want. You can remove icons, or add icons, and place them in any order. Kind of a cool feature if you ask me....
But, here is what I don't like. If you look in Picture#1 above, you will see that I have removed ALL of the icons. Clicking on the Close button, my browser now looks like it does in Picture #2.
So, now I'm all happy. I have cleaned up the bar, so I only have the Favorites stars on the left. Life is good right?
Wrong.
I close IE7, and then open it back up again. Somehow, ALL of icons that are the "default" set come back. as shown in Picture #3
So, I play with this a bit, and find out that if you keep just ONE icon, it works. See Picture #4
But, if you remove them all, IE7 does not like that, and forces the default set back on you.
I also noticed that when I make modifications to this, I see the "default" bar flash for a second or two before it is changed to my modified one. If I have no icons on it, it does not change, and remains as the default.
Any one else seen this, and have a reason why?
Thanks,

Hey Brian,
I do not have a reason why but when I added an extra Separator item....I no longer saw any buttons.

I did not think to try that. When I get home from work tonight, I'll give that a try and see how it goes.
Oh, I see Steve Mehs had a question for me about the toolbar position. Someone did post a link about that, so let me know if you were able to figure that out or not, or if you still need some help.
Thanks,
--Brian
Edit: I gave that a try by adding another seperator to the menu bar, and that did the trick! I can open / close IE7, and the bar remains empty!
Thanks again Bubba ! | |
