nice but slow

Why mandate fiber in the home wiring, if your going to deliver such paltry speeds on the service... if you've got the balls to mandate building codes that must include fiber conduit... have equally ballsy service providers that give 100/100 symmetric for a dirt cheap price!!

Otherwise its just a lame excuse for fiberoptics.. as cablemodems can do 30+mbits.. you want to stand out, do 50/50 or 100/100 to start and go UP from there!!

Dirt Cheap price???

And how do you expect this company to stay in buisness? How about if you want 100/100, be ballsy enough to pay for it.

Re: nice but slow

15Mbit for $100?!?!?! I think 100/100 (100BaseT) would be more like it. Heck I have 15Mbit/2Mbit with Optimum Online now and that is $49.95/mo. Granted it is "only" 2Mbit up but that is still very good.

Re: nice but slow

You're not serviced by AT&T in gulliver? Too bad. You could get DSL at 1.5 Mb for $13. If you're paying $50 for that speed, I pity the fool.

Re: nice but slow

I know it and not much to do with a "monopoly".10 miles from here where they(Centurytel) also have cable as competitor the same package is $10 cheaper.Have no other option than dial-up and satellite.:-(

Hell yah. That's about what I pay for my 6M/384K Comcast service.

I'd gladly pay $50 for 10M/10M service.

You need to have SOME INCENTIVE to be BETTER than the BEST offers in the country to break into the market, otherwise it's like granting a monopoly to foreign oil... Wait, you Kalifornian's DID overpay for gasoline lately-- what topping $4.00 a gallon???!, so $100 15mbit symmetric is as cheap as a bag of oranges... that being you pay through the nose for the health care of the immigrants the pick the fruit in your medicaid taxes...

Have LOW expectations, GET low results.
