IE7 and ATT Yahoo Browser Alert

FYI - IE7 and Yahoo Browser are incompatible at this time, however Yahoo is working to correct this problem and get a fix out ASAP.

So if you update to IE7 and use the yahoo browser - it may or may not work and possibly corrupt your installation of all yahoo services. Just FYI.

I downloaded and installed IE7 this morning. No trouble installing but I was definitely un-impressed. Using GoBack I reverted to IE6 and I intend to stick with Firefox for all but those pages that just insist on you using IE. UGH!

Some people use it for thier kids, I get requests to install AOL and Yahoo all the time. Just to more or less keep the kids from going to them there "inappropriate" places on the internet.

That's about all it is.

That is why I used this link to upgrade IE 7 to use with SBC »downloads.yahoo.com/

Internet Explorer 7
Optimized for Yahoo!

I still would rather use Firefox however.

I'm talking about the Yahoo Browser - the software you get from sbc.software.yahoo.com.

The actual Yahoo browser is not yet compatible with IE7.

@swbell.net
As of Today, ATT/SBC Yahoo Tech support still says IE7 is not compatible with SBC Yahoo DSL service, due to browser crashes that occur when attempting to access certain Https pages on Yahoo's system.

Re: IE7 and ATT Yahoo Browser Alert

Yahoo is working hard to get it compatible before November 1st when IE7 becomes a critical update. Otherwise, our phone lines will become overloaded.

Running Vista RC2 with IE 7.0 and everything is fine with the websites that I visit. Again, an ISP should be a big fat dumb pipe. I don't need any `value added` garbage.

O my god - I am just posting to let those who use ATT Yahoo Browser know about the issue with IE7. Why do people always post negative things in helpful threads?

If your not even using it - why bother posting? Obviously this thread doesn't apply to you.

I am real real real happy for you - I'm glad you don't need any value added garbage. I don't use the ATT Yahoo Browser either but you don't see me dumping all over the ones who do?

I'm helping them also. In the same way people help newbies by telling them to put PPPoE on their router and never even stick the SBC CD in their computer.

Keep this junk off your machine, you don't need it.

Microsoft has a tool to block automatic delivery of IE7
»go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=65788
Per Microsoft...
" The script creates a registry key and sets the associated value to block or unblock (depending on the command-line option used) automatic delivery of Internet Explorer 7 on either the local machine or a remote target machine.

Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Setup\7.0
Key value name: DoNotAllowIE70
* When the key value name is not defined, distribution is not blocked.
* When the key value name is set to 0, distribution is not blocked.
* When the key value name is set to 1, distribution is blocked."
