Well, despite using another connection to download some .torrent files, it looks as though the trackers themselves are being blocked. A brilliant strategy to save their bandwidth, but I can't say it's much of a win for myself and others.
Edit: Perhaps I jumped to conclusions too quickly. It took a while, but seeds that were tallied, yet not connectable are now somewhat connectable. 60kb/s is better than nothing I guess. |

1 edit | As of today apparently, just about any attempt at downloading a torrent file at various tracker sites has yielded a Page Cannot Be Displayed message in IE, and either a blank window in Firefox or it actually works. I was able to download a .torrent file for the Fedora distro of Linux in IE though.
As such, is it possible that my school's network is selectively allowing .torrent downloads? If so, I must say that living in residence sucks royally. I can't even sign up for cable internet because the com media department won't let me.
Edit: I can't download anything from SourceForge either, although that in and of itself has been an issue before this one arose. |
