He was facing charges there (California), but the state lost the computer they confiscated from John Karr. The only evidence that prosecutors had were printouts of his pornography collection. Therefore, they dropped all charges against him. | I don't understand why they couldn't throw him in jail for leaving the country to avoid prosecution even if they couldn't get the original charges to stick.
Then again the Boulder police department should have spent $50 bucks to get a DNA sample FedEexed over instead of spending thousands to fly him back here. He'd probably still be sitting in a Thai jail instead of making appearances on Larry King Live. |

I'm also surprised they were not able/willing to prosecute him on some peripheral issue related to that case.
I guess the best we can hope for is that either his name and face become so notorious he never gets an opportunity to be alone with children or someone else comes forward with a claim of impropriety on his part.
I felt a bit uneasy posting his whereabouts last night, but considering he brought it upon himself to become a household name, the information I posted was publicly available on the Internet, and his own admissions were so disturbing I felt posting his address was justified. -- "[Our enemies] never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
