True, no reason for such things (unless you are on Linux) because everyone knows both Microsoft and WGA are completely infallible....

Sure, lets pay the richest man in the world to allow you to download the swiss cheese of all software for free. I see no problem with that. Considering Linux has no ActiveX (without much un-necessary work, and Mac has had minimal (if not non-existent) issues with their browser, and no known virus threats of recent has came from the two O/S's. Sure, I'll pay for a registry system that is often exploited or corrupted by legitimate software, or even cluttered by some webpage visits. And, why yes, I love having to second guess if the slow loading page my IE loads, isn't really the newest, latest, greatest exploit, working it's way into my system thru "flash player" exploits, or "Java". Nah, I'd rather use Firefox, even stoop as low as Konqueror (which does work great, considering), before doing ONE SINGLE STEP to get IE7 working on my computer.

P.S. Windows is getting to the point where I am about to start emulating it thru VMWare, but I have no problem dual booting as a backup/resource saving method for games.
