netgear WGR614 v6

I am feeling sad because I bought a refurbished netgear WGR614 v6 and it didnt have the setup wizard disc with it. I tried to download it from the netgear website and this just downloads fragments of the file. Can anyone out there help me out pleeeaaase??

Re: netgear WGR614 v6

I always avoid the setup disc, and you will learn a lot more by going through all the settings anyway. Here is how to get to the configuration page with your web browser. Be sure to connect your PC to a wired LAN port of the WGR614 for configuration, not with wireless. Also, you may need to connect the WAN port of the WGR614 to your modem first. And reboot everything, starting with your modem, then the WGR614, and finally your PC to pick up an IP address first.

To bypass the Smart Wizard Configuration Assistant, log in to the router with the following URL,
www.routerlogin.net/basicsetting.htm
(or else "http://192.168.0.1/basicsetting.htm")

username : admin
password : password

But on my WGR614v4, you can also use the built-in setup wizard if you want to try it. Just omit the "basicsetting.htm" and it should take you there.

Also, if »192.168.0.1 does not work, then try »192.168.1.1. I have the WGR614v5 and the log in for mine is »192.168.1.1. Good luck and tell us how it went.
