I currently att dsl connection. (its a semens 4100) it works fine for my neets, but i have gateway 750gx notbook, and several older desk tops win98 second edition, and win 2000 machines. I would like to set up a wireless system with the two desk tops and my lape top. I have read a lot of thing the last 8/10 days and just more confused. I know nothing about this stuff. I need it to work from the get go. My question is should i purchase the 802.11g Wireless Gateway (2Wire model 2700HG-B) from the phone company, or shoud i go with something like a Linksys wirelsee router? (if so would you get the wirless g or the wirless g with speed boost? Note: the wire unites would be in my upstars, and the laptop would be down stairs. I would use laptop in summer on deck in back.
My sone uses a Apple laptop with wirelss internet could he connect when he come home? Currently at school.
Please include any other thoughts.
