Why would you have to "start from scratch" in regards to your bookmarks? I just backed up my profile directory in case something happened, and then uninstalled Firefox 1.5 and installed 2.0. I had all my bookmarks and remembered passwords still available. The browser just checked for updates to plugins/themes.

I find it easier to use the tgz file from Mozilla than wait for SuSE to put out an RPM.
