MySpace was a smart buy at $580 million since Murdoch knows where the kids are. Look at the ads on the site: aimed at the lucrative 18-35 crowd and the lucrative teen crowd.
In just the last 3 months, MySpace has added 25 million new "friends." It also is the top 5 in hits in the entire web. $580 million for that audience is cheap!
Keeping it free to join (with ad placements) probably will allow 200 million "friends by the middle of the next year. |
