Hockytown: You *might* be able to buy a non OEM BIOS for that Dell that lets you go into the settings and modify stuff, but don't expect much of any kind of adjustable Factory Dell OEM BIOS when you get it.
This is one of the major reasons we build are own around here, most of us.
Now, that said, if you download SiSoft Sandra, it will look at your BIOS, and you have the option of linking to a website that has a program that will inspect your system and offer to sell you an driver update service and a non OEM BIOS, if it is available. I happen to have just learned of this, myself. I wouldn't count on it, though, for an OEM motherboard, like you are getting though, and you would void your warranty anyways...
There are a lot of good reasons we build our own, and some of us build as the hot deals and sales and rebates come along, that is how we build for less. Doing that is not practical for many folks. -- Life is good. |
