Same as you Janie. I never figured out that the thread rating was there.
Oh good! That makes me feel not so alone

And if you look at the rated threads list (once you find it LOL)...it looks really dumb to have all the old daily stickies in there

I agree with jack b See Profile

Those daily stickies should not be archived. They certainly aren't worth seeing in the "Rated" listing. If you appreciate the topic, give a private thumbs up instead, but I would rather not see them green everyday too (or in the Rated archives)

Aside: The funny thing is I never figured out how to rate a thread after the old topic thumbs up vote disappeared LOL. Just now found it with this topic

Hutch See Profile has yet another blonde moment.

The rating function always segregated threads readers voted. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for showing appreciation for great threads.
Really all I'm saying is can we turn off the archiving of the dated, daily locked "sticky" thread.
And I was able to edit my "vote"

No, It's a feature on every single thread that gets posted, everywhere on the site.
I don't know the threshold, but it seems only a few votes are needed, and some number makes the thread title bar green.
If enough readers feel it's a worthwhile topic and elect to "vote", it gets automatically archived and listed under "rated" threads.

Here, for this purpose ,this defeats what I believe is the intent of rating threads.

I didn't intentionally vote, I clicked every radio button and the last one "took". Like I said before, each updates thread is worthy of tons of praise, a lot of effort goes into it.

It's just not worthy of archiving.
Wasn't that the same thing that happened when people gave thumbs up or votes before Justin started this rating function.

No one thing is completely yin or completely yang. Each contains the seed of its opposite. For example, winter can turn into summer; "what goes up must come down"
