Spybot S&D, Spywareblaster, and IE7

I searched around a bit and all I have found so far when people ask about compatibility with the above two programs and IE7 is:
"It should be fine, so far no issues here" (concerning immunization, 'enabling protection' etc).

I can't really seem to find an "official" answer. (Unless I missed it on the respective sites).

A couple of questions and/or observations though.

For those running IE7 (if there is anyone here), and have this protection enabled, try this:

Make sure IE7 is closed down then disable all protection in both programs.
When I do this and then launch IE7, it crashes with a 'must shut down' error until a reboot. (A google search turned up more than one person experiencing this same problem).

Secondly, I'm wondering if any of the new 'security features' included in IE7 have made the protection offered by these programs any 'less necessary'.
It seems to me, with the major changes made to IE7, the very least the developers of these programs should have on their sites is something to the effect of "fully compatible with IE7". (Especially for people new to the programs).

I don't use IE7 much (I'm an Opera kind of guy), but I must say I like IE7 and will be using it more. (Yes, I can hear you security guys cringing now)

But until I see some official word that these programs have been fully tested as compatible with IE7, I'm not liking what I've seen so far.
I checked both sites, but again, all I saw were people saying: "gee, it works fine for me". (I may have missed something more 'official' somewhere).

BTW...I rarely even run scans with Spybot. Never finds anything, and I'm a pretty 'safe surfer'.
It's just a program I've had around forever so I keep it.

Comments?
Thanks.
