A Google button for what? Google has lots of services.

And are you saying that you'd rather have the link/bookmark in your Nav Bar vs. having it in your Personal Bookmarks Toolbar?

Why not just change the url for the Throbber so it opens the particular Google link you want?

Thanks Grail Knight, this would do nicely. i followed the link and directions you supplied and entered "throbber" in the filter menu of about:config. this action comes up a blank in search results,is there a way to create a value for this to modify.

in FF 1.5,pressing it would take me to FireFoxes site...clicking it now has no result although it does animate when when i surf. could it have a different name in 2.0?

i found the answer here as well as the add-on.

Your welcome for the suggestion.

I do not use the throber myself but remembered you could use it for whatever site you wanted.

In about:config search for "browser.throbber.url".

If it doesn't exist create it as type "string" with the value of your choice. In my default installation its value is "http://www.mozilla.org/".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but looks like in Firefox 2 the throbber isn't clickable, even if you manually add the entry for it in about:config.

It is not clickable in Fx 2.0 but the extension posted by wheeled gives it that function.

MTLI 5.3.1.1 also enables the throbber click, and it even honors the old browser.throbber.url setting.

I do not use the throbber myself but MTLI does enable that feature for those that use the extension.

I like Fission Extension for the page progress.

Edit* Fixed spelling.
