LarryE join:2000-07-29 Chicago, IL kudos:1 | Why are Speed Test Java Applets blank? I've click on the link to download the Java Plugin and am told by Java that I have the latest edition of Java. So then why are the applets blank? I'm using Maxthon 2.0.
Thanks

| I don't know what Maxthon 2.0 is. If you have the latest edition of Java then you have a "java console" which you can open from the control panel or systray icon. What does it show?
Have you tried disabling security products like norton that can interfere? |

Maxthon (Formerly MyIE2) is a powerful multi-page browser based on the IE core (IE5.x or IE 6.0 required).

Well, I don't have a Java Console in the System Tray so I have no idea what it says. Here are a couple of screen shots of what I see. I use Windows Live OneCare which I can't turn off. It worked before and the Tweak Test works fine, so I'm confused. |

LarryE join:2000-07-29 Chicago, IL kudos:1 | reply to LarryE Sorry, guess it's must Maxthon 2.0. I tested it in IE 7 and the speed tests work just fine. I'll have to make a bug report at the Masthon forum.
Thanks for your help.

| Tell Masthon that I use the standard trick to get around "click to activate" which is a javascript function that must document.write the applet lines.
It is documented here: »www.segal.org/java/HelloPatent/
If "hello world" does not appear on that page for you, then it might be the problem. |

| reply to LarryE Thanks Justin for your help. I upgraded to the latest version of Maxthon 2.0 and the problem is now resolved. By default Maxthon had selected MS Java and I couldn't select Sun Java until I upgraded. I thought I should post this just in case there are other Maxthon users out there.
