| City-wide WiFi limitations are becoming obvious
All the hype about city after city rolling out citywide WiFi has often failed to acknowledge the significant limitations of these services. Even when rolled out by well funded organizations and even when well planned, these roll outs have serious coverage and speed limitations. And they also fail to give access to residents inside buildings without additional expenditures by residents themselves.
And issues about the costs of ongoing maintenance and support have been minimally evaluated. All in all, the reality of this type of wireless infrastructure has severely underperformed the promises. -- -- My BLOG My Web Page |

Gimme a break lol It is free man, if I could get this service for free, I would not have any issue spending 200 dollars up front on a WiFi antenna to bring it in my house. |

| reply to TKJunkMail It's a *FREE* WiFi Service after all... You DO still have the option to *PAY* for Dial-Up, or perhaps DSL or Cable service, if that's available... Otherwise, spending about $50 for a "Cantenna" »www.cantenna.com/ may be all that you would need... And, If you're a "Do-It-Yourself" type, you could even BUILD one, for just a couple of bucks... »www.turnpoint.net/wireless/cante···wto.html

| reply to TKJunkMail When you get phone service, the phone company isn't responsible for giving you a phone.
The theory behind all this is fine, its today's user that expects everything to be hand delivered and perfectly functional with absolutely no cost.
If I don't know how to do something, I either learn how to do myself it or pay someone who does. I don't cry about how someone should be doing it for me for free. |
