All the monitor does is ping your connection to see if it answers. It does list the time the ping took but that doesn't seem to mean anything since the monitor can change ping time but that change comes from the monitor itself not your connection.
Your ISP would know if you are making a lot of connections which could be a bot. You could run through the security clean up faq to see if this is the case.

Question.
Are these monitors independent of a problem inside the DSL modem?
In other words if Century Link is claiming that sudden degradations in bandwidth are potentially a virus on your computer would the monitor also be impacted by that.
Because I am seeing a direct correlation to degradations (complete stoppages) in internet access with spikes in packet losses on my monitor. |
