I'd be asking for a new car ouch. |

If you read the Elise forum thread, you will see that the general consensus is that the car should be written off. The fact that they used the wrecker to winch it down and used the front suspension to hook onto is not good..... the hole in the floor is another bad thing... the floor panel is part of the chassis and not replaceable. |

That type of thing done to the front suspension is not good at all and I'll put money on the fact the mount points are just plain fracked. I've done P L E N T Y of work with getting cars out of weird spots and onto tow vehicles, and can tell you NO car will take kindly to what is in the pictures. -- RIP Dimebag- August 20, 1966 to December 8th, 2004. |

Read the frackin thread before commenting ijit. Read it and will only amend iy yo say - What idiot lets someone OTHER than the ONE person he trusts work on it.... If his FIL is not there - why drop it off at all - especially at a GoodYear...? Sorry - my opinion has not changed.... -- Brian

One of the other stores drooped a 15 year old Dodge car of some sorts that some old lady owned from new. It was a $1,500 at most and she got $17,000 dollars for "sentimental value". | reply to 72276539 While I agree that what happened to that car isn't a good thing in any way shape or form, I dont see the straps on the frt suspension as the worst idea in the world.
If the car is really that light in the frt end (as evidenced by rolling backward off the hoist), then there wouldn't be that much force on the straps. I dare say that 3 strong people could support the car in that position while the hoist is lowered, then "roll" the frt end down toward the ground. -- Overheard: "I could careless matter of Fact"

| reply to lotusracer Happened to my brother-in-law a few years ago with his Dodge Ram. Thing was totaled. This happened at the same dealer that had just re-opened their garage a few months before after burning it (and a number of customer's cars) to the ground. Idiot's are everywhere, not just at third-party shops (though you do get more there). |
