Why not? The hardest part and the most cost of installing highspeed broadband is laying the fiber in the ground to every house. Even if in a few years it is deemed to costly to upgrade muni hardware, the network is there and probably could easily be rented out to ISPs that can offer more services. The biggest reason people don't have fiber is the cost, if the towns installed it themselves, they open the door to many options. |
