No, some games have the option of installing on the hard drive, the game isnt copied. It also doesnt boost preformance, it only speeds up load times making up for the lackluster preformance of a 2x blu ray drive. |

| reply to gate1975mlm You can copy PS3 games to the hard drive so they can load up much faster And sorry to tell you but you are going to have a real long wait to be able to buy the PS3 for under even $300 Really? I have not come across any article that mentions copying/running the game from the HD, and I'm suprised the GI article did not mention this. If true, that is a sweet option. Can the 360 do this too?
Lol too about the $300. You are probably right about the wait. |

There is no way in hell I am going to pay over $3-400 for any system. I finally picked up PS2 and xbox when they were around $150 and I am enjoying the hell out of the games I can now pick up for 10-20 bucks. I just don't get the benefit of full servers on some games. IMO Sony screwed up adding Blu-Ray to all systems. It should have been an external option. It drove the price way too high, and I don't think many will see the Blu-Ray as a deal maker to buy the system. Who knows though, that might change in a couple years. I also read in Game Informer on a preview of a game (I can't remember which one. I will quote the whole reference if called out) that the load times will be longer for PS3 as opposed to the 360 because of the Blu-Ray drive. That's definitely not a selling point either.
