There are three tiers of service.
Right now Telephony is the big ticket, and upgrades to the speed of the HSI service is also in the works.
Current Prices are 24.95 256k / 39.95 4mb-512k / 54.95 5mb-756k for the different tiers of service.
The priced did not change after we upgraded the speeds last time, and I would be surprised if we increased the price of HSI service next time speed increases come. |

| VagueDreams, I don't know where in Winterville you may be since Winterville, NC now covers quite a large area. I'm in the Southeastern part of Greenville, NC so I would guess that we're not too far apart. That being said, how do you get an accurate, or what you determine to BE accurate, speedtest to indicate your true download speed from Suddenlink?? I have been using the middle (4mb) tier and yesterday I switched to the 5mb level to see if I can tell any difference at all. I recently changed cable modems and did not contact suddenlink since it worked. But, I did notice a major drop in download speed. From a fairly consistent 2950 (which I think is way low) to a consistent 186. After calling suddenlink and giving them the necessary info the tech did something and my download speeds increased to 2950-3125. Still not enough, I think. So, back to the above mentioned switch to 5mb which will probably be temporary. The first test that I ran today (0100) gave me a 3856. Hmmm. Is it really an increase or just that this time of morning is not as crowded on the broadband?? So, back to my original question. How do you test your speeds and get a result that you are genuinely satisfied is accurate or as close to accurate as possible?? I'd love to talk with you via email, or phone, and if you want to give me an email address I'll do the same, or give mine first. I'm kinda new at this forum thing and not sure about the correct protocol. If I've violated any rules or guidelines in this post I apologize but I'm learning. Anyhow, please let me know what you think and we'll go from there. I also tried a Motorola signal booster for broadband and either I installed it incorrectly or it's a major nothing. I could tell no change at all. Take Care and if I don't hear from you, Have a Merry Christmas anyhow.
