Cable: The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated
As of September 30, DSL lines represented 45% of America’s broadband internet market, up from 34% in 2002. Cable modem penetration meanwhile, is slowly but surely declining, and currently stands at 47.3% of the total market, or 51 million lines........
cable modems continuing to lead the high-speed internet market until late 2007.
As Mark Twain was reported to say: "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." And even if telco overtakes cable, it will be many many years before cable companies fade away.
