| [Connectivity] No "provisioning" available today!!
Ordered Digital Voice to be installed today and the Tech got everything done but was unable to provision the new modem because "provisioning" was unavailable. Will be down for the rest of the day!!
Dispatch actually told him that I would have to wait 5 business days before I could have the work completed!!! What in the hello is going on here? |

@comcast.net | Is it back up now? If so, shouldn't I be able to do the orovisioning over the phone with somebody and why should I have to wait 5 business days???
Thanks |

1 edit | reply to Knoxville_Unhappy Sorry, but it's still down.
And about the five business day thing...I'm not sure why they would quote that. Each market handles things differently but if they are anywhere like ours, they should be able to get you working once the provisioning system kicks back into gear. |

| reply to Knoxville_Unhappy Last update came in at 6:28 saying that the Denver Engineers are working on the issue.
Late in the afternoon we got a message saying that each market had to be re-provisioned one at a time, and Chicago was first priority.
Hopefully tomorrow I guess. |

1 edit | reply to Knoxville_Unhappy They have a story on this on the front page news.
A Comcast technician writes in: "Do NOT reset your equipment right now or you will get a 169 IP address from Comcast." "Provisioning and DHCP have been down since yesterday afternoon and looks like will be down most of the morning. |

| reply to gar187er It was initially scheduled on 11/6 and yes I am porting my current number. They arrived on 11/13 and were unable to complete the job since they were unable to provision the new modem. The tech got everything completed except for the provisioning. It was at that time that Comcast dispatch was telling their field tech that I would have to wait another 5 business days before we could re-schedule and complete the order. As I listened to this conversion I explained to the tech that I wanted the work order left open as incomplete so I hopefully wouldn't have to wait another 5 days.
I have since hooked up my old modem so I at least have HSI but I am without phone service. Does anyone know if Knoxville provisioning is up?
Thanks |

| UPDATE...
It's all good! Direct voice is up and running as of 30 minutes ago. The quality of the phone connection is MUCH, MUCH better than what I had with BellSouth! Very clear, no static, latency with increased volume as well. Right now, I am very pleased! |

more like a "crap" network. Coming from someone who likes to remain anon, this is expected. If you only knew the complexities of today's networks and what it takes to provide Internet service via a broadband connection you would probably go hide in hole. -- I'm not really sure what I am doing, but I'm doing it anyway! |

That's not the customers problem. Customers are paying for SERVICE and, rightfully, expect to get SERVICE and not have to wait days to have anything, no matter how small, done while comcast just does whatever the hell they want.
This kind of thing is exacrly why comcast is referred to as comcrap. |

Networking hasn't been around as long as telephones, so don't expect the same quality, but it's getting better. |
