Re: Google-Fi Sighting?

What is your point? The fact that the SSID was not hidden or simply that you had a sighting? How does this relate to the WISP users forum?

I was working yesterday on something at 111 8th Avenue today, and a typical Google "node" was literally 10 feet away from. Mind you, Google has enough love for them selves to pack close to 300 servers into an area the size of your living room.

I brought back my laptop from a state of standby and did the usual diddle daddle, the ping this, scan that, peek at this, talk to that one, joke about that thing, plug that cable here, drink this drink, snack on that snack kind of thing. So finally my attention was brought to the infamous "Wireless Network Connection; Choose a Network Connection..." dialog window. There I noticed staring at me a wireless network sporting WPA2 security blatantly blaring it's proud SSID at me... Google

By then the effects of the drugs consumed on the way to the city began to wear off and I realized that it could really be anything... the engineers way of being able to walk around with their laptop and work on their servers directly from the conveniently placed "Break Room" just outside of the data center floor... or it could even be the brand spanking new Google office on the 5th floor where very pretty ladies work.
