Re: Anyone use WILDBLUE around the Leander/Liberty Hill area ??

We've had wildblue for about 2 years. Mostly satisfied with service. Reading posts on Cobalt makes me feel lucky. Still beats dialup by longshot.

Only two issues.

1.Their billing office sometimes doesn't mesh their records accurately with the installer, so you need to watch for double charges on repairs.

2.Technically, I've had to replace their dish transmitter once, which cost another $150 or so, and now my system seems to be behaving kinda the same way. (slow speeds and modem sometimes looses the signal and has to reininitialize during clear weather) So if their equipment was a bit more reliable, I'd be a whole lot happier.

I'm on the Syracuse uplink, and I've frequently had a good signal in all but the worst weather when all is going well with their equipment.

Installation with G-Tec out of Bulverde. They seem to know their stuff, and aside from resolving the billing issue I mentioned, I'm pretty pleased with them.

Hope this helps...

Leander, TX

I am in the sticks between Leander & Liberty Hill.
No DSL... No cable & microwave based is not an option(hills)

I have heard good and bad about WILDBLUE satelite ISP.

Does anyone actually have it? what beam are you on and who was the installer(makes a difference)

over all satisfaction/dis-satisfaction of the product

thanx,

David
