At&t Yahoo Online Protection.... is it good?

I have At&t Yahoo Online Protection, it has Anti-virus and Anti-spyware. It uses an anti-virus program that is made by Computer Associates, but not directly one of their products (just made by them), and the Anti-spyware is quote "At&t Yahoo Online Protection anti-spy".

Is this program going to keep me protected? For some reason, I think that you need something like Norton to be good...

i strongly dislike CA's antivirus, it's detection is mediocre at best, try avg free, if you want something free, that or i am strongly enjoying kaspersky internet security, also it appears zonealarm security suite(which was using CA's antivirus, is now getting changed over to kaspersky(it's in beta testing right now))

AVG is pretty good. I have had it on 3 computers for several years and it has caught hundreds of nasty things. Although Norton has sometimes done better on independent tests, AVG has always been superior when it comes to keeping my own PC safe.

The pros of AVG are ease of use, stability, and a fairly decent detection rate, which seems to be getting better over the last few months. It also won't hog your system, much unlike Norton.

The cons for the free version are lack of tech support via email, lack of setting up more then one scheduled scan or update per day as well as lack of detection for adware.

Overall, I still consider a great free program. Check out »free.grisoft.com/doc/1 if you are interested in trying it.

Antivir which can be found on »www.free-av.com/ is probably another good option for a free AV program. Although I have only used it for a very short while, it seems to work well and is easy to use. It also tends to be known for its very good detection rate.

The only con I have found is a company advertisement during the first update of the day, which really isn’t a problem at all.

If you decide to go for a pay-for product, for $0.19 (nineteen cents) a day, Kaspersky Internet Security, provides exceptional protection.
It's an Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Firewall, and much more.
Multiple daily updates are issued, (practically hourly).
You can download a fully functional 30 day trial directly from their site.

It doesn't hurt to have that layer of protection in place, but I would not rely on it to the exclusion of other AV protection, particularly local HD based.

  I'm sticking with PC!

Hey, with AntiVir, I ran a scan and it said Detected: 0, warnings: 19, but didn't do anything about the warnings... What does this mean?

I don't think that it is anything to worry about. I believe those are just "in use" files that couldn't be checked etc.

Other people on here might be able to provide more info.

If your looking for a good AV have a look at »www.av-comparatives.org/

FYI: AVG blows, I wouldn't touch that shit with a 10 foot CAT5 cable

I did a scan with AntiVir, and it detected nothing but 15 Warnings. Should I be worried about this? What does it mean? Here is a picture.
