| Horrendous BT Speed via Streamyx since last week
Since last week, my Bit Torrent speed went down from about 100kb/s to less than 5kb/s. This download speed includes torrents with lots of connecting peers. But somehow, the data couldn't go through. Upload speed is fine.
Is it only me or everyone else is having this problem? |

said by hellfried  :does azureus with encryption turned on work any more? I use utorrent with forced encryption without allowing incoming legacy connections, without DHT, Global Max Connection 250, Max Connected Peers 50, No. of Upload Slot 10.
My download speed is better with local peers (218.111.xxx.xxx). For international peers (140.120.xxx.xxx), each connecting peer would give me no more than 1kb/s and the connection keeps breaking off. This is frustrating. |

| Can count yourself lucky when u only get throttled now~~~~~ those encryption stuff doesn't work anymore... let's hope that one day TM NET will 'turn over a new leaf' and give us the speed without restriction whatsoever~~ which is impossible as long as there's no competition... Who knows Lim Keng Yaik ah?? Make him force them to stop traffic shaping!!! |

I manage to download videos from youtube at around 100kb/s, and yet my bt speed is only 5% of that, even for healthy torrents. I get the same pathetic speed even if I change to different IPs. Maybe they shape traffic by your login id. |

but when you download from the same site, max it hit is 20KB/s
they are throttling HTTP download too ?

I hope Streamyx is not throttling any user on purpose without warning. This is not the way to treat customers. This has happened to me once in April 2006, that's when I start to use forced encryption; And the speed returns to normal again (with encryption) around June/July. |
