Re: Goes without saying!

Yup, I'm getting the same spikes here. I've been on sub 20 ping for some servers but once I get on them wham...rubberband effect from lag and I've noticed on the whole pings are actually worse since the upgrade.

Yes, I've had some sub 20 pings to servers, but it isn't the norm sadly.

But don't let this fool you, I did numerous teast over a 5 minute period. The tests all swung wildly from anywhere between 600/200 to 9500/740.

The problems in KY is in effecting alot of users.
This IP 74.134.0.217 is in Ky and look at the ms on that hop,I normally only have 10 Hops to that server/ip and now i have 16 hops and playing on this server or any other is not playable! Its like playing on a 28K dial up service. Last night the time it took for me to download the map, the time was up and i didnt even get to play the map i download

This is sad.
WOW!

That is bad, do you know if this is something that has been happening for a long time, or something recent?

Well, it is generally real good, but in the evenings it does slow down a bit, and I still can get decent speeds at night (sometimes I even get the rated speed I am supposed to get in during typical peak periods). But today took the cake for me, and it is ridiculously slow at best.

I understand that people are all off work and are primarily at home, but Insight has to do something about expanding their network if their goal is to attract customers, which they have been doing. Sadly, while expanding their customer base, their network capabilities have remained static.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too

Yep, same thing here near Peoria in IL. My latency to games has been absolutely terrible for the last 4 days, and I'm getting 6-7 second long spikes that are often enough to disconnect me from whatever I'm playing. Getting ridiculous.

Happy Thanksgiving all,

Anyway, here I am TG day and the speeds are so slow that I cannot even play my Xbox 360 online in multiplayer without lagging terribly, and that isn't even if I host the game.

Now while it is sweet that Insight increased their basic tier up to 10/1, the typical peak period use still make the speeds fall down to 500k/250k. But during the day today when I have the real chance to game with many, it craps out on me. Com'on Insight, ramp up the available space on the nodes so we can at least (somewhat) enjoy half of the newer speeds.

dslreports.com speed test 2006-11-23 13:50:09 EST:
428 / 157 (Kbps)
(52.3 / 19.2 KB/sec)
Compared to the average of 1246 tests from insightbb.com:
* download is 92% worse, upload is 80% worse
