I think people are bitter. I did not get one, but I did jump back in and got the bike, so it is not a total loss. There were literally millions of people in there trying to get it at once. That means each user had less than a one in a thousand chance at getting the 360.

Wait 'til next week. Portable DVD player for $25! I will be trying again!

I don't think it's being bitter. Their systems could not handle the capacity and THAT is where the problem lies. Anyways, I too got the bike. (After my code was stolen..I called up and was given a new one)

it's not about bitter, it's about amazon not being able to keep their site functional during the event.

i would have found it more acceptable to have been able to get a page load with "sold out" rather than looking at "loading..." for 5-10 minutes followed by "sold out".

Yea, we all probably refreshed at the same time. I, admittedly, was using the auto-refresh function in opera. All 6 of my tabs (ok ok..I know..but I know some people had multiple computers setup for this thing) timed out and I couldn't even access the page until around 11:15. I was just like WTF! Really, amazon was NOT ready for this at all.

I got one and I only had one tab open I had to refresh twice.

What would be insanely funny is if a lowly 56Ker managed to nab one. *chuckles*

Even though I was not up for this deal, at all, I am still disappointed in Amazon for not having sufficient enough servers.

Can you say lawsuit by 56k'rs because they were not able to access this deal? I know it sounds crazy... but so does the lawsuit by some blind and/or deaf guy that couldn't use his screen reader to view target's website.

I'm sure people are pissed, but also do not think people would go as far as that.

i did not get one and i was on the site waiting. when it came time to go i could not even get the page to load and i have cox cable with 5 meg speed. amazon.com is just like all the rest. they knew what would happen and did nothing to prevent it. they knew in advance that there would be an excessive amount of traffic on their site yet they claim innocence. it is like posting a notice on a street corner that there will be someone handing out 100 dollar bills to 1000 people. how many do you think would show up to get a chance? amazon.com is not innocent and i will never go to their site again.

Less chances with the POS server NEVER loading. I clicked refresh at 12:57p.m. Central time(3 mins before the deal started and I got one response from the server at 1:03p.m saying it was sold out. For 6 damn mins the page didn't even load.

It didn't start loading normally till about 30 mins after 1p.m.
