3 edits | You should be able to do so. The reason Westell calls the Model 327W "VersaLink" is because one of the four Ethernet ports in back can be reconfigured from a LAN port to a WAN port. So, instead of connecting the 327W to the Internet via DSL piped into the RJ-11 telephone jack on the back, it can connect to the network through the E1 RJ-45 jack. That reduces the number of available LAN jacks to three, but if you plug E2, E3 or E4 into a network hub, you can regain the lost LAN connection and more. The 327W is spec'd to handle up to 253 users. Read the Westell VersaLink 327W User Manual for details on how to reconfigure it. You can find it at »www.westell.com/verizon/versalink.
You'll need the administrative login (default="admin") and password (default="password") to talk to the router through its HTML interface (»dslrouter or »192.168.1.1 ), assuming the previous owner hasn't changed it. If you don't have the login and password, you'll need to reset the modem to the factory defaults by turning on the power and depressing the recessed Reset button with a paper clip or toothpick for 10 seconds. Wait until the self-tests complete and lights turn green before proceeding with reprogramming. |
