 Traveling... Help with email

I'm going to be traveling next week and will be in hotels all week. How do I find out what to change my outgoing mail settings to? Will my BS email still work if it's behind someone else's system? I've tried in the past and get a Relaying Error (not allowed in Outlook).

Any suggestions?
Thanks

If it doesn't you can always use webmail at webmail.bellsouth.net.

It will not work using your BellSouth Account.

Either use WebMail, which is probably best for just a one week trip, or set up another account on Yahoo or Gmail and use their port 587 for outgoing email. I'm pretty sure they both use port 587.

This is what I have been doing for years, but for a one week trip, unless you are very comfortable with email setup, WebMail is the easiest way to go.

Also look at FAQ:»AT&T Southeast Forum FAQ »I can not send email. What wrong? What can I do?

Webmail would be simplest.

GMail uses either port 587, or port 465. You have to configure the account to use the servers; it sets up without the ability. Also, you have to configure the account to use your Bellsouth email address, if you want to use it for sending. Or whatever non-GMail email address you wish to use. The SMTP server will refuse to relay if you fail to configure a non-GMail email address as a sender email address through the server.

Yahoo! Mail uses port 587, but you have to have a Yahoo! Mail Plus account ($19.99 per year) for "POP3 Access and Mail Forwarding" on U.S. Yahoo! accounts (yahoo.com).

Duh, I don't know why I didn't think of webmail. I guess I just get so used to using Outlook, I wasn't even realizing that I have an alternative. Thanks for helping me get my head out of my butt.

You can still get all your email from the BS email servers no matter what ISP you are using. It's just you can't send mail through the BS servers unless you are on a BS connection. So get your mail with your email program and reply to it from web mail and send a copy to your self so you have a record of it.
