daisychaining 2 routers on one network

Hi

I have a netgear dg834g router and am planning to upgrade to the rangemax router. Is it possible to connect them together using the ethernet ports and daisychain them on one network... for example one upstairs and one down? Or do i have to create 2 networks?

yes, you daisy-chain using the ethernet ports, not the WAN port to Ethernet port. req faq, i think this is in there

You'll have to daisychain them via their ethernet ports; keep in mind only one of the routers can actually route traffic from the internet; reason being, they are both ADSL router/modem devices. That being said, the second router in the line will function as a "switch only." If one of the routers were an ethernet router, then you'd be able to create a second network.
