ok, so all is well and then I start up World of Warcraft. The latency starts around 60ms and then gradually jumps to 1800+ms. Then when I run the line quality test, it says, "Target IP does not respond to ICMP ping". Everything is set up for ping, it works before starting the game.
After this happens, one of two things must occur to get my connection back to normal. I either have to do a hard reset of my modem or leave it alone for several hours and it seems to correct itself.
Any ideas how this game could cause these problems? I loved my BS DSL before switching to Comcast (did it for price. Now that I've switched back, I'm not enjoying this at all. |

2 edits | Have you tried taking the Netgear out of the network to see if the problem disappears? You will need to use a PPPoE client (like the native XP) to connect though.
I would suggest contacting BellSouth and getting a Westell 327W. It's supported by the helpdesks, has ADSL2+ capabilities, and has 4 LAN ports. »AT&T Southeast Forum FAQ »Detailed Information for the Westell 327W Wireless Router. |
