Are you using a third party router? Why don't you get the STH replaced with a newer modem/router combo?

Loganville, GA		 Yes, I am using a Netgear WGT624. I could entertain the thought of buying a modem/router combo ... can you recommend a good one? I need wireless (G or better) and at least 4 physical ports.

2 edits		 Have you tried taking the Netgear out of the network to see if the problem disappears? You will need to use a PPPoE client (like the native XP) to connect though.

I would suggest contacting BellSouth and getting a Westell 327W. It's supported by the helpdesks, has ADSL2+ capabilities, and has 4 LAN ports.
