There's systems to do this... the user can hop from an AP to the next, and the IP flow is following him. I am not aware if any large deployments have been done, but I've read some docs on those systems.

How will that cover a certain area though? Wouldn't these need to seemlessly be able to hop between towers? Or we are not talking cellphone here and simply fixed point to point applications?
