[Lingo] Does Lingo works with DSL connections??

Hi..im a Lingo user for about 6 months now and haven't had major problems with it. I was wondering if Lingo works with DSL. Because right now im paying too much (i think) for cable 42 bucks a month...i would like to replace that with a dsl connection but not quite sure if it can work with LINGO... also i dont have a regular phone line coz i have lingo VOIP.. so i dont know what to do..
any help/information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

First of all, except for geo-sync satellite systems, I am not sure of any public broadband, where ports aren't being blocked, where voip doesn't work. There is no such thing as a voip provider that doesn't work on a particular type of broadband. Even the satellite I mentioned works with voip. It's just that there is a delay in the conversation because of the 90,000 mile round trip involved. I have 32 satellite internet systems, and if voip works on those, then lingo will work on dsl.

As far as the rest of your questions, you really need to talk to the DSL providers in your area. Ma'Bell isn't the only provider. Some require you have a phone line assigned to the DSL. Some don't. Again, you really need to ask them. Later... Mike...

As others have said, Lingo will work fine with DSL. The question is whether it pays to get a regular phone line in order to get the DSL. My primary phone line is PSTN. That line carries both my DSL and my VoIP (as well as my alarm system and a custom-ring fax number). If you switch to DSL, you would need to pay for the phone line as well as the internet connection unless your carrier supports naked DSL.

If you're in Brooklyn, you may want to avoid Verizon DSL even though they are the cheapest.

I pay more than your cable bill for Earthlink DSL but it's been stable and Lingo(or other VoIP) works well on it.
