First of all, except for geo-sync satellite systems, I am not sure of any public broadband, where ports aren't being blocked, where voip doesn't work. There is no such thing as a voip provider that doesn't work on a particular type of broadband. Even the satellite I mentioned works with voip. It's just that there is a delay in the conversation because of the 90,000 mile round trip involved. I have 32 satellite internet systems, and if voip works on those, then lingo will work on dsl.
As far as the rest of your questions, you really need to talk to the DSL providers in your area. Ma'Bell isn't the only provider. Some require you have a phone line assigned to the DSL. Some don't. Again, you really need to ask them. Later... Mike... |
